Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone Orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. 

Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Purpose: The Manager, Medical Excellence and Innovation will be responsible for executing and managing the day-to-day tactical activities within DePuy Synthes Medical & Scientific Affairs. This role will ensure the seamless implementation of strategic initiatives, drive operational efficiency, and support cross-functional collaborations to advance medical excellence and innovation.

You will:

Operational Execution

  • Develop and deploy templates for medica strategy for new products including strategic imperatives and impact goals for the medical communicational strategy.
  • Support development of the Product Core Narrative
  • Coordinate and support medical onboarding and training activities for MSLs.
  • Support the execution of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) strategy, including planning and engagement with external experts.
  • Support development of content for MSLs Scientific Exchange.

Data & Metrics

  • Collect, analyze, and report on key metrics and KPIs to measure the success and impact of medical activities.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations for leadership review.

Technology & Tools

  • Assist in the implementation and management of IT systems and digital tools supporting medical activities.
  • Help maintain channels and platforms like Orthopaedics University for knowledge sharing.

Compliance & Best Practices

  • Develop and maintain SOPs and Guidelines applicable for MSL function
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory, legal, and company policies.
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of best practices and operational procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MS, MBA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in medical affairs, project management, or related roles within MedTech or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with medical affairs processes, MSL activities, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and data management systems.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$117,000-$200,000

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
