Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent to join our team as a Global Finishing Operations Leader, Vision Care to be located in Jacksonville, FL.

Purpose:

Johnson & Johnson Vision is recruiting a Vision Care, Global Finishing Operations Leader to lead and transform finishing operations for the Vision Care Contact Lens business. This role provides end‑to‑end responsibility for finishing operations across U.S. and Limerick based internal manufacturing sites and external manufacturing partners, ensuring safe, compliant, high‑quality, and cost‑competitive supply to patients and customers worldwide.

Rooted in Johnson & Johnson’s purpose—Caring for the world, one person at a time—this leader will build an environment of Operational and Business Excellence, grounded in the J&J Operating System, strong quality culture, and continuous improvement. The role serves as a key member of the Vision Care Supply Chain End to End leadership team, helping to drive enterprise objectives, resilience, and long‑term growth.

Responsibilities:

End‑to‑End Finishing Operations Leadership

  • Lead all Vision Care contact lens finishing operations across internal manufacturing sites and external/contract manufacturing partners, ensuring consistent performance, quality, and compliance.
  • Ensure finishing capacity, capabilities, and readiness align with commercial demand, product roadmaps, and long‑term growth strategies.
  • Own operational performance across safety, quality, service, cost, and inventory for all finishing activities.

Strategic & Business Leadership

  • Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term finishing operations strategies, aligned with Vision Care value streams, technical roadmaps, and new product introduction (NPI) plans.
  • Lead annual operating plans, budgets, and long‑range financial plans, driving productivity, cost competitiveness, and return on assets.
  • Translate strategy into clear priorities, objectives, and performance metrics across sites and partners.

Quality, Compliance & Regulatory Excellence

  • Ensure all finishing operations operate in full compliance with FDA, ISO, GMP, OSHA, and Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) requirements.
  • Partner closely with Corporate and Vision Care Quality to maintain a strong quality culture, inspection readiness, and robust quality systems across internal and external operations.
  • Ensure regulatory and quality expectations are clearly defined, deployed, and sustained with external partners.

External Manufacturing & Supplier Partnership

  • Provide executive oversight of external finishing partners, ensuring alignment to J&J standards for safety, quality, cost, service, and ethics.
  • Drive performance management, capability development, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across the external manufacturing network.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, and Technical teams to strengthen strategic supplier relationships and long‑term capacity strategies.

New Product Introduction & Technology Transfer

  • Partner with R&D, Marketing, Product Management, and Value Stream teams to support new product launches, line extensions, and technology transfers into finishing operations.
  • Ensure finishing processes are stable, scalable, validated, and capable of meeting launch and lifecycle requirements.
  • Stay current on industry trends, automation, digital solutions, and finishing technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

People, Culture & Leadership Development

  • Build and sustain a culture of accountability, engagement, inclusion, and continuous improvement across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Develop organizational structures, capabilities, and succession pipelines to support current and future business needs.
  • Coach and develop senior leaders and managers, serving as a role model for J&J leadership behaviors and values.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Experience & Expertise

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in an FDA‑regulated manufacturing environment, with strong exposure to finishing, packaging, or downstream operations.
  • Proven leadership experience in complex, multi‑site and/or external manufacturing/packaging and labeling networks.
  • Deep knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence frameworks.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and productivity transformation strongly preferred.

Leadership & Business Acumen

  • Demonstrated ability to lead at the enterprise level, influencing across functions and levels—from shop floor to executive leadership.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate vision into disciplined execution.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, cost management, variance analysis, and long‑range planning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse, global teams.

Education & Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required.
  • Master’s degree in a technical field or business (MBA) preferred.
  • Fluency in English required; additional language capability a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required to support internal sites and external partners.
