What We Want
The SRS Research Administrator I processes and submits journal entries for post-award administrators to review and resolve issues with sponsored projects. Responsible for processing, reconciling, and providing financial data to management, and auditors. Responsible for assisting with the development, maintenance, and updates within Laserfiche products. Responsible for property management of equipment. Assist with travel coordination and expense approvals.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or any equivalent combination of education or experience
No prior experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Research administration experience with Texas A&M System or other university systems.
Knowledge of applications used by A&M System members, such as FAMIS, Canopy, Business Objects, AggieBuy, Maestro, and Laserfiche.
Knowledge of Federal grants, contract regulations, and practical application of current research administration issues.
Knowledge of university travel policies and procedures.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and applications (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent critical thinking and analytical capabilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, proofreading, and time management skills.
Ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex problems and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Responsibilities
Processing - Processes and submits journal entries for post award research administrators to review and resolve issues with sponsored projects. Creates, reviews and approves documents in the accounting systems. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and distributing ad hoc research reports for Sponsored Research Services (SRS) staff.
Financial Reporting - Responsible for processing, analyzing, reconciling, and providing financial data to departments, members, management, and auditors. Coordinates with internal and external auditors on financial data and sponsored projects managed by SRS.
System Administrator - Responsible for assisting with the development, maintenance, and data updates within Laserfiche processes and databases. Coordinate with the SRS Research Administrator Manager to monitor and update Laserfiche products, SQL and Access databases.
Departmental Employee Access Request - Prepares and submits access for new and terminating employees. Maintains SQL database. Coordinates with human resources and managers on employee access request.
Property Management - Coordinates scheduled property inventory with departments across TAMUS. Maintains capital asset records through data entry and assists departments with property transfers for expired projects. Prepares documentation for the annual external audit, develop routine financial summary reports, and monitor accounts.
