The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.

The Communications Specialist III supports advancement-related communications with a focus on annual fund and donor engagement initiatives. This position develops and produces communication materials that support fundraising goals, strengthen alumni relationships, and promote philanthropic support for the university. Working under general supervision and in coordination with the Director of Annual Fund and campus partners, the Communications Specialist III ensures clear, consistent messaging and effective use of digital and print channels to engage alumni, donors, and external audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Writes, edits, and produces content for annual reports, brochures, newsletters, flyers, news releases, presentations, and web platforms in support of advancement efforts.

  • Assists in implementing communication plans that support annual fund and donor engagement activities.

  • Coordinates and executes communication projects, including email campaigns, website updates, and social media content, ensuring alignment with established timelines and objectives.

  • Supports digital communications efforts, including maintaining web content, assisting with email marketing, and contributing to social media platforms.

  • Works with internal stakeholders to develop messaging that highlights donor impact, alumni activities, and institutional priorities.

  • Tracks communication project timelines, deliverables, and basic performance metrics to support ongoing efforts.

  • Assists with planning, coordination, and promotion of events and programs related to fundraising and alumni engagement.

  • Prepares materials for print and digital distribution and coordinates with vendors as needed.

  • Contributes ideas for communication strategies and campaigns to support engagement and outreach goals.

  • Work collaboratively with the University's Office of Marketing and Communications to align and support strategic communications and marketing efforts that enhance institutional awareness and engagement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.

  • Four years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Knowledge of media and public relations.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
