Verdantas is seeking a Sr. Land Development Engineer to support our growing team in Wilmington, DE.

As a Sr. Land Development Engineer, you'll work with multidisciplinary design teams and help manage high-impact site development projects across

Delaware. Your work will span from site layouts and grading, stormwater management and erosion control, water and wastewater utility design, and permitting.

As a prominent member of the team, you will also play a key role in mentoring and fostering the professional development of emerging talent within the Wilmington office.

What You'll Do:

• Assist Civil Group Leader with Design and Project Management
• Perform technical planning and design work associated with land or site development and/or water/natural resources projects, including (as appropriate based on experience and licensure)
• Site planning, design, and grading
• Stormwater management design, erosion & sediment control design, landscape planning, assessments, and design 
• Entrance Plan design
• Prepare records and construction plans for agency/municipal review 
• Completion of various land development and environmental permitting applications. Attend meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, and contractors
• Candidate should be a critical thinker, be willing to learn through trial and error, be self-motivated, and be willing to put the full effort into the task at hand
• Candidate should have a strong desire to grow and advance 

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
• 7 or more years of experience in land development (preferably in Delaware)
• P.E. required (Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and/or New Jersey preferred)
• Knowledge of green infrastructure practices, such as bioretention systems, permeable pavement, infiltration systems, and green roofs.  DNREC experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability & experience to lead a team of engineers and designers
• AutoCAD proficient, Civil 3D a plus
• Familiarity with Hydro CAD, Hydraflow, or other stormwater modeling software
• Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus

Salary Range:

The compensation range starts at $95,000 and is based on the position, experience, and licensure.
