Verdantas is seeking a Staff Engineer I for Summer 2026 at our Mentor, Ohio, Office. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or emerging professionals ready to transition from academic learning to impactful, real-world engineering.
What You'll Do:
Assist Project Managers with technical, and civil engineering design or provide Project Management
Perform technical engineering work associated with land development and/or water resources:
Stormwater management design
Site grading
Erosion and sediment control design
Prepare plans for agency/municipal review
Completion of various land development and environmental permitting applications
Attend meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, and contractors
Candidate should be a critical thinker, be willing to learn through trial and error, be self-motivated, and willing to put the full effort towards the task at hand
Candidate should have a strong desire to grow and advance as an engineer or technical designer
What You Bring:
Associate degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
Bachelor's degree is a plus
0-2 years of experience in land development civil-site engineering
Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software
Knowledge of green infrastructure practices, such as bioretention systems, permeable pavement, infiltration systems, and green roofs
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred
EIT Preferred
Familiarity with ArcGIS software is preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills
Salary Range:
65,000 - 70,000
