This entry‑level role is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career engineers looking to build hands‑on experience in transportation planning, design, and construction support while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers.
Verdantas is seeking a Transportation Staff Engineer I to support a growing portfolio of transportation infrastructure projects. This entry‑level role is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career engineers looking to build hands‑on experience in transportation planning, design, and construction support while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers.
What You'll Do:
- Assist with the planning, design, and analysis of transportation projects, including roadway and highway infrastructure
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical memoranda, and reports
- Support development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Perform data collection, research, and field observations as required
- Assist with preparation of permit applications and coordination with agencies under supervision
- Support quality assurance and quality control reviews
- Participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Perform construction inspection or field support as needed
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Transportation focus preferred)
- 0–2 years of relevant transportation or civil engineering experience (internship experience considered)
- Working knowledge of engineering principles related to transportation design
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Interest in professional development and pursuing Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification
Salary Range:
The starting salary for this position is $65,000, with final compensation determined based on qualifications, experience, and licensing status.
