POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Supply Planner plays a critical role in ensuring finished goods availability across the global network while driving strategic inventory and supply planning decisions. This role owns the development and execution of global supply strategies, partnering cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial leadership to balance supply and demand, optimize inventory investment, and enable scalable growth.

The Senior Supply Planner plays a critical role in the S&OP process, leading supply planning inputs, driving scenario analysis, and proactively identifying risks and opportunities across the network. This individual is expected to influence decision-making, improve planning processes, and enhance visibility to support global commercial and clinical operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Own and continuously refine global inventory strategies to ensure high service levels while minimizing excess, obsolescence, and working capital.
  • Lead inventory planning and deployment strategy for NOP (National OCS Program) hubs, optimizing network positioning to support rapid response and operational efficiency. Review data for accurate execution of inventory balancing activities across the franchise.
  • Drive inventory balancing and redeployment decisions, leveraging data to proactively mitigate shortages and excess across regions.
  • Establish and govern supply planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, reorder points), ensuring system integrity and alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead allocation management processes during constrained supply scenarios, including executive-level communication and prioritization frameworks.
  • Partner with Commercial and Clinical teams to anticipate demand shifts, product launches, and market dynamics; translate insights into actionable supply plans.
  • Lead supply inputs into the monthly S&OP cycle, including scenario modeling, risk identification, and recommendation of trade-offs to senior leadership.
  • Develop and refine supply planning reports, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, tools, and automation to enhance planning accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for global supply planning, supporting cross-functional initiatives and mentoring junior team members as needed.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position will not have any management responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS                                                         

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, engineering or related field
  • 4+ of experience in supply chain planning, procurement, or production planning; global or multi-regional experience preferred.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Combination of Education & Experience will be considered

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a regulated industry (medical devices, pharma, etc.)
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) preferred
  • Experience supporting or leading S&OP/IBP processes

TransMedics is committed to equitable and transparent compensation. The expected base salary range for this role is $95,550.00-$119,250.00, which represents the company’s current good-faith estimate of compensation for this position. Actual salary will depend on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific work location. This role may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and wellness resources).
