JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Technician plays an important role in supporting Boyd’s quality standards and customer requirements. This position is responsible for performing audits, inspections, and containment activities, as well as ensuring nonconforming material is properly identified and documented. The role includes issuing supplier nonconformance reports, maintaining quality documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Management System. Quality Technicians also provide support for new product launches, assist Quality Engineers as needed, and work closely with production teams to prevent quality issues and ensure compliance with company and customer standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform quality system audits (LPA, product audits, AQL inspections, containment, GP12, safe launch, etc.) to support company and customer standards.

Record audit results in required reports and provide timely feedback to Production Supervisors, Quality Engineers, or other team members as appropriate.

Determine and document disposition of nonconforming material for suppliers and internal rejects.

Perform 100% sorts or containment activities when required (QC hold product).

Issue supplier nonconformance reports in Business Central, notify suppliers of issues, and complete all required forms for supplier returns, scrap, and shipments.

Create and maintain Certificates of Analysis and other quality documentation.

Measure and inspect parts using various inspection and measuring tools.

Communicate emerging or trending quality issues to prevent impact on production or customers.

Escalate unresolved concerns when not addressed adequately in the immediate work area.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with the Quality Management System.

Provide quality support for new product launches and assist Quality Engineers as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned to support quality and business objectives.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Office environment with frequent work in production area. The position will require wearing common protective or safety equipment as designated by company policy. The position may require standing or walking for extended periods of time. The position may also require the use of hands and fingers with tools. The position may require the lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Much of the work will involve using a computer.
