The Host of The Palmetto Cafe will ensure all guests are greeted and seated in a friendly and courteous manner using appropriate procedures, by hotel standards. Answering phone calls and responding to guest questions. Providing a warm greeting to customers upon entering the restaurant.  

Responsibility 

• Work required host/hostess shifts. 

• Positive interaction with all guests as they arrive.  

• Follow up with guest interaction as they are leaving. 

• Communicating any issues or concerns promptly to management before the guest leaves. 

• Communication with the hotel, pre-shift to obtain and share information about any large groups, events, or issues in the hotel that may impact the flow of business. 

• Assist in overseeing host/hostess. 

• Proper input of guest information using RESY 

• Conduct proper flow of guest dining within hours of operation. 

• Communicate with the Kitchen and Front of the House for the pace of guest dining.  

• Tracking hotel guests, and special occasions, and obtaining guest info while using RESY. 

• Communicating with the restaurant manager about any needs of the host stand, i.e. menus, silverware, etc.

Qualifications 

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred and/or equivalent experience.  

• At least two years of related experience is required. 

• Understanding of the luxury & quality environment.
