Job Summary:

What You'll Do:

This position will manage plant operations that includes batching, facilities management, and supervision of the following: ready-mix drivers, truck, and plant maintenance personnel. This position will also work with dispatch and customers to provide superior product and customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communication with dispatch and customers with regards to shipping, orders, and changes.

  • Order raw materials such as cement, fly ash, chemical admixtures, and aggregates through coordination of Materials Manager.

  • Using loader, manage raw materials.

  • Perform various quality control tasks such as moisture checks, slump tests, air entertainment tests and temperature of materials.

  • Implementation and support of company safety and environmental programs.

  • Perform end of day cleanup on batch plant.

  • Supervise and assist various plant maintenance functions.

  • Perform daily paperwork, including production reports as necessary.

  • Oversees drivers to ensure adequate concrete production and truck cleanliness during off peak times.

  • Occasionally consists of a revolving Batchman responsibility along with batching duties at various locations.

  • Truck driving as needed

  •  Supervise and direct personnel to accommodate customer service.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers. Promote and maintain the professional image and reputation of the company and ensure timely problem resolution and customer satisfaction.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to take direction, instruction and guidance from supervisors and management.

  • Ability to apply knowledge and learning capabilities of mechanical functions of various components and equipment, including electrical, pneumatics, compressed air, mixer trucks and water systems.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, such as batching, operating materials distribution, reading order tickets and talking on the phone at the same time.

  • Ability to operate computerized batching system and other basic computer knowledge.

  • Must be able to work with customers and drivers in a professional manner, and in group situations.

  • Class B CDL required

Pay: $37.00 per hour
