The primary role of the Spa Supervisor is responsibility for maintaining the daily operations of the spa, fostering a positive staff environment, maximizing guest experience, and spa cleanliness, and ensuring the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. Responsible for assisting Spa Leadership in all activities necessary for operations in the Spa department. While no job description can possibly provide a comprehensive list of job duties, the following is a summary of the major responsibilities for the position.
Duties/Responsibilities
Assist in training new Spa, Pool, and Fitness Center colleagues on operational duties, ensuring alignment with departmental standards and service expectations.
Responsible for helping to find shift coverage for all Spa, Pool, and Fitness Center staff as needed.
Assist Spa Manager in coaching colleagues to take on more responsibility and develop leadership skills across spa, pool, and fitness operations.
Support the Assistant Spa Manager in coordinating and executing all corporate, bridal, and social group activities related to spa, pool, and fitness services.
Assist the Spa Manager in maintaining accurate inventory control and quality control for retail, operating supplies, equipment, and linens across the spa, pool, and fitness center.
Supervise and assist colleagues with cleanliness and organization in all spa and wellness areas, including retail, treatment rooms, locker rooms, fitness spaces, pool deck, and Health Club areas.
Administer spa reservations, guest check-in/check-out, and oversee concierge duties for spa, pool cabanas, and fitness appointments.
Maintain awareness of retail products, fitness offerings, services, and specials to maximize revenue and guest engagement.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all hotel programming, including spa, pool, and fitness-related events.
Ensure that all colleagues meet department dress, grooming, and Forbes service standards.
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a culture of wellness, hospitality, and teamwork.
Attend internal meetings, trainings, and events as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Required Skills/Abilities
An experienced and knowledgeable supervisor with strong leadership in spa, pool, and fitness operations
A team-oriented professional who is detail-oriented, dependable, and punctual.
Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Forbes service standard training preferred.
Ability to collaborate effectively with management, colleagues, and external partners.
Strong ability to anticipate guest needs and ensure satisfaction in every spa, pool, and fitness interaction.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least two years of experience in a luxury spa, pool, or fitness center environment preferred.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift equipment, supplies, and materials up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make sound decisions under pressure.
Requires extended periods of standing or walking, particularly during peak hours or events.
Clear vision required for reading reports and monitoring wellness facilities.
Good hearing essential for effective communication with guests and colleagues.
