Job Title: Material Handler, Raw Materials

Department: Warehouse – Raw Le Sueur 

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Raw Materials Supervisor 

Location: Cambria Processing Facility 

Date: 6/12/2019

Position Summary: The Material Handler, Raw Materials is responsible for unloading and verifying inbound freight, while maintaining safety standards. This position uses a forklift to move raw materials for the majority of each shift. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to become certified in forklift operation 

  • Ability to read and write in English to complete required documentation

  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift experience 

  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills 

  • Basic math skills

  • Mechanically inclined 

  • Industrial work experience 

  • High School Diploma or GED

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Move raw materials to and from storage, production areas, loading docks, and delivery vehicles using a forklift

  • Organize and maintain overall appearance of the loading dock including raw materials, packages and pallets to ensure timely, accurate and careful delivery

  • Drive a forklift for a significant portion of shift

  • Follow proper maintenance procedures for the forklift 

  • Maintain and report inventory needs

  • Maintain documentation of inventory, shipping records, receiving inventory and receiving shipping records

  • Keep work area clean and orderly 

  • Perform job duties safely as outlined in the Raw Materials Warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Physical Requirements: 

  • Push/pull loads with a pallet jack

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria

  • Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises  

  • Work in a non-climate controlled environment 

  • Climb in and out of a forklift multiple times throughout shift 

  • Bend over multiple times throughout shift 

Task Based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: 

  • Steel toed boots

  • Hearing Protection 

  • Safety glasses

  • Respirator 

  • High visibility vest
