Join AT&T and help shape the future of communications and technology that connect the world. We value innovators who seek to explore the unknown and challenge the status quo. Bring your bold ideas and fearless spirit to redefine connectivity and transform how people share stories and experiences. At AT&T, you won’t just imagine the future—you’ll build it.
We are hiring an Expert System Engineering Integration Lead to serve as the technical “quarterback” for a multi-year enterprise-wide transformation program implementing our target-state technology stack. This role is an individual contributor and technical authority responsible for end-to-end integration execution across 200+ applications—ensuring the right software versions are integrated at the right time, readiness activities are completed, and releases progress from vertical slice to production with high quality and predictable outcomes. This is a player/coach role with no formal direct reports: you will be hands-on where needed, and you will provide day-to-day technical direction to a broad set of dotted-line engineers across domain teams, platforms, and shared services.
What You’ll Do
Own integration execution from development readiness through release, production, and stabilization for BSSe capabilities.
Coordinate dependencies and integration points across 200+ applications, platforms, and shared services.
Run the integration operating rhythm (standups, defect triage, cutover/release checkpoints, go/no-go readiness).
Partner with Release Management to verify build/config/feature-flag alignment; flag and drive resolution of drift pre-promotion.
Enforce integration engineering standards (contracts, versioning, promotion, test evidence) and drive consistent adoption.
Provide hands-on technical leadership as needed—troubleshoot complex issues, guide design decisions, and unblock teams.
Anticipate integration risks; manage defects (RCA, ownership, priority) and keep vertical slices moving to slice-complete.
Drive release readiness (runbooks, rollback, monitoring), exec-ready status, and responsible AI-enabled integration improvements.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
10+ years in software or systems engineering, including 5+ years leading large‑scale integrations or releases.
Proven experience integrating complex enterprise systems across APIs, events, batch, files, and data flows.
Strong foundation in distributed systems, integration patterns, and non‑functional requirements.
Deep knowledge of modern SDLC, CI/CD, environment management, and release readiness.
Hands‑on experience with testing strategies, defect management, and production support.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a player/coach role.
Experience delivering AI‑enabled solutions or using AI to improve engineering productivity and quality.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical risk into clear decisions.
What You’ll Bring
A systems thinker mindset with sharp engineering judgment and a bias for execution.
The ability to standardize integration practices without slowing teams down.
Comfort operating in high‑scale, high‑visibility enterprise transformations.
A calm, decisive presence during complex releases and production events.
A pragmatic approach to AI adoption that balances speed, quality, and security.
Passion for raising the bar on integration quality, predictability, and operational excellence.
