Job Title: Area Medical Director NP/PA

 

Strong healthcare operations leader and practicing clinician responsible for the oversight of 10-15 Carbon Health centers within a market. A successful Area Medical Director is intrinsically motivated, challenge-driven, rethinks traditions and genuinely cares about employees and patients. What You’ll Do

 

Patient Care

        Deliver up-to-date, evidence-based, and compassionate care to patients in clinic

        Perform procedures within scope of urgent care and/or primary care

        Collaborate with clinical team to facilitate efficient patient flow through the clinic

        Document care in timely and accurate manner

        Promote professional development for Center Medical Directors and clinician team

        Provide approximately 10 hours/week of direct patient care

 

Operations Management

        Responsible for the daily oversight and clinical operations of the centers in your market

        In partnership with Center Medical Directors, set, communicate and maintain the highest quality of care and safety standards

        Routine reporting to the national leadership team on the state of center operations

 

Financial Accountability

        Accountable to the financial performance and P&L oversight by ensuring the budgeted productivity, labor, and other expenses are achieved

        Supervise center managers to review and routinely perform cost analysis and ensure supplies are adequately managed

        Responsible for being up-to-date and knowledgeable with regard to diagnostic and procedure coding, and how it affects reimbursement (training staff as needed)

        Promote staff contentment, ownership, loyalty, and happiness by modeling the behaviors yourself

        Encourage agility, transparency and autonomous decision making within teams

        Lead and take part in the coordination of community outreach and occupational health growth within your clinics

        Define protocols and processes for providing continuity of care with external managers of surrounding primary care, specialty practices and other patient referral sources

        Partner with national leadership, people business partner and Center Medical Directors to elevate the employee experience in support of recruitment and retention within your market

 

About You

        Physician Assistant: Medical/Master’s degree with a valid state license and national certification

        Nurse Practitioner: RN license, NP certification, and a valid state license

        Valid, unrestricted medical and DEA licenses

        BLS and/or ACLS certification is required and must be obtained before your first day with Carbon Health

        5+ years of experience in ER, urgent care or similar setting

        Ability to consult and treat patients of all ages

        3+ years experience leading others in a healthcare setting and experience overseeing multiple care sites

        Understanding of financial statements, P&L management and HR business processes

        Active listener with soft skills to build and maintain trusting relationships at all levels of the organization

        Excellent communication and interpersonal, time management, planning, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

 

Area Medical Director Salary Range:

$178,000 - $220,000

Compensation offers include an hourly rate, a wRVU bonus plan, a weekend differential, and a balance of factors such as level of education, experience, work history, and geographic location. The Company complies with all state and local wage and hour laws.
