Position Summary:

This position is responsible for designing, developing and implementing strategies for all consumer promotions and private events while considering relevant consumer insights and brand objectives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

  • Manages and executes marketing campaigns through multi-channel platforms such as digital and print ads, social, paid media, email and postal mail
  • Coordinates and executes marketing promotional requirements with various internal departments, external agencies, corporate partners, promotional sponsors and other areas
  • Manages all stages of event development and implementation for Mohegan Sun’s events and promotions including private slot and table game tournaments, gift and cash giveaways, tier events, charitable events, community events, Asian Marketing events, and meet and greets
  • Establishes internal controls for all private events and promotions
  • Ensures consistent communication strategy across all components of marketing, including but not limited to internal and external advertising, direct mail and online marketing
  • Liaises between internal departments, including Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Compliance, Retail, Social Media, Advertising and Public Relations, and Legal
  • Manages budgets and forecasting activity to support private events and promotions including evaluation and measurement
  • Schedules, trains, supervises, and counsels Events & Promotions staff
  • Manages all aspects of event design and format including event builds, purchasing bids, and product research
  • Works with the Purchasing Team to ensure all product orders are completed and delivery is scheduled accordingly
  • Enforces all departmental policies and procedures
  • Establishes quality standards for the department
  • Maintains and respects confidentiality of marketing programs, guest information and databases
  • Adheres to all rules and regulations set forth by the Mohegan Tribal Fire Department, Public Safety and the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Commission

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with project tracking and monthly analysis
  • Knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements for promotions
  • Ensures department processes meet regulator statues
  • Works closely with internal departments and third party vendors to create all promotion-related communications and collaterals
  • Negotiates event related contracts and works closely with the Legal department to ensure timely and accurate contract execution
  • Supports the Public Events team as needed

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or related field
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in the day-to-day operations of a multi-facets event management firm or in the gaming/hospitality industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Basic understanding of GHS, ACSC Casino Management System, and SharePoint
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be capable to interacting with the public in a highly professional manner, including public speaking
  • In lieu of the above, a minimum five years of supervisory experience in a high volume, complex casino environment

CompetenciesIncumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

              

  • Basic understanding of the Mohegan Sun budget process
  • Knowledge of planning and executing events
  • Ability to define business requirements for technical solutions
  • Intermediate project management skills
  • Knowledge of player tracking, rewards program and special events
  • Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment

Training Requirements:

  • Must attend all appropriate Human Resources Manager Training classes
  • Understanding of Marketing Admin Panel, Time & Attendance Payroll System, and Manager Self Service systems
  • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
  • Mohegan Sun CER and purchasing procedures
  • Knowledge of Elite Bonusing Suite, GHS, Avatar Event Management System, ACSC Casino Management System, PromoSpin, Meeting Matrix, Mintz & Hoke, Delphi Space Management Systems, and SharePoint

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Office work environment
  • Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours, including holidays
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions and customer interaction
  • Travel may be required for this position
