The Principal Consultant will lead client engagements within the BFSI sector, driving strategic transformation, digital innovation, and operational excellence. This is a senior-level role requiring deep domain expertise, strong consulting capability, and a knack for solving complex business challenges in banking, financial services, and insurance

This role uses their subject matter expertise related to BFSI business challenges, industry trends, the competition, business models, industry value chain/business processes, industry segments, solutions, the regulatory environment, benchmarks, and standards bodies, to create value and enable successful business outcomes for the organization and the client - enabling the client to transform their business and their industries. 

This role is a subject matter expert in one or more particular industries or verticals and is extremely knowledgeable on industry trends and the marketplace and players. 

This role deals with complex client accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Relationship Management

• Serve as a strategic partner to C-suite stakeholders.

• Lead workshops, diagnostics, and roadmap development for business transformation.

Solution Design & Delivery

• Develop bespoke solutions across digital banking, regulatory compliance, risk, data analytics, and customer experience.

• Guide implementation teams and oversee program execution to ensure measurable outcomes.

Business Development

• Identify and cultivate new opportunities within BFSI clients.

• Support proposal creation and pitch delivery in collaboration with sales teams.

• Guides the identification of client requirements and oversees value assessments and business process analysis.

Thought Leadership

• Publish articles, speak at industry events, and contribute to market-facing content on BFSI trends.

• Attends industry and technical conferences to ensure that they remain abreast of developments in their area of expertise and related disciplines.

Mentorship & Collaboration

• Lead multidisciplinary teams across consulting, technology, and operations.

• Mentor junior consultants and foster talent development within the practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field

• 12–15+ years of experience in consulting and/or BFSI industry

• Proven success in delivering digital transformation, operational optimization, or compliance programs

• Strong knowledge of core BFSI systems, fintech innovation, and regulatory environments

• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and client management skill

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Fortune 500 financial institutions

• Experience working with multinational financial institutions and navigating cross-border regulatory requirements

• Exposure to AI/ML, blockchain, cloud, or cybersecurity solutions in financial domain

• Hands-on experience with cybersecurity frameworks tailored to BFSI operations
