Are you ready to take the lead in a dynamic, high-impact administrative role?
As the Principal Assistant to the Director of Transportation Services, you will be at the heart of departmental operations, managing a wide range of complex projects and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion. You’ll need to exercise independent judgement and discretion that directly influences management policies and business operations, and you’ll have the authority to make commitments that shape the future of the department.
In this role, you will often serve as the Director’s representative in meetings and act as the primary point of contact for sensitive and high-level issues. Your ability to navigate complex situations with confidence and clarity will be key to your success.
You’ll also:
Oversee day-to-day operational activities, including HR and financial processes in Workday.
Coordinate travel arrangements and provide administrative support to key University committees such as the Parking and Transportation Task Force and Transit Advisory Group.
Collaborate with leadership to develop departmental policies, plan events and trainings, and ensure compliance with required employee trainings.
Manage personnel records and maintain organized, confidential files.
Lead marketing and outreach communications in partnership with the Director, Associate Director, and department managers.

Additional Information:
This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $4,508.70 - $6,199.47 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible management work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with the WSU parking system.
Experience with the Workday system.
Experience with the Microsoft suite, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel and Word.
Experience with the AIMS parking management system.
