Summary of Duties:
As the Finance/Budget Manager, you will serve as the principal fiscal advisor, for the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, overseeing the development, and analysis of all departmental budgets, including grants and self-supporting funds. You will provide strategic financial planning and forecasting in collaboration with leadership, ensuring alignment with institutional and department goals, policies, and procedures.
You will also manage complex financial commitments such as faculty start-up packages, remodeling funds, and program obligations, while producing comprehensive financial reports and projections. In this position you will also be responsible for supervising and directing the work of support staff, leading efforts to improve financial systems, including cost analysis, revenue modeling, and fee structure adjustments.

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined upon salary placement.
Monthly Salary: $4,943 - $6,912 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheet, database, word processing, e-mail, and calendaring software.
Experience with budget, personnel, and management of financial resources.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
More than two-years of fiscal experience in an academic department in a higher education setting.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with WSU systems.
Experience with the Workday system.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
