Role Summary:

Flowserve is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician for our Valve Business Unit to join a dynamic team in the development and deployment of manufacturing and test systems globally. This individual will play a critical role in testing and assembling mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring our systems meet high-performance standards before they are shipped to our global locations to enable the production of our products. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on personality, a passion for learning new systems and processes, and the ability to contribute to the efficient and effective fabrication, validation and deployment of our global equipment sets.

This role is perfect for someone pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or with similar technical training. Experience is preferred but not required; we are looking for someone eager to grow and contribute within the field.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Location: Springville, UT.

Responsibilities:

  • Control System Testing and Assembly: Perform testing of control systems and components in lab environments, ensuring they meet required specifications and standards. Assembly custom PCBs for Testing Equipment
  • Mechanical and Electrical Assembly: Assemble mechanical and electrical components, ensuring proper fit and function. Reading and interpretation of electrical/electronic schematics
    Technical support to contractor manufacturing
  • Vendor Coordination: Review vendor quotations, select the best suppliers based on cost, quality, and lead time, and place orders for parts and materials.
  • Parts Verification: Inspect and test received parts to confirm that they meet the required specifications. If discrepancies are found, work directly with suppliers to resolve issues. Troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuit boards
  • System Setup and Deployment: Assist with the setup, deployment, and testing of control systems globally.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in the development and improvement of processes related to control systems testing, assembly, and deployment. Assist in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Projects
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of test results, assembly processes, and any issues encountered during the testing phase. Hand soldering and use of diagnostics instrumentation

Requirements:

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical training.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting is a plus but not required.
  • Strong hands-on aptitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with mechanical/electrical tools and techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic control systems and test systems.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specifications and guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with LabView or similar control system programming and testing software.
  • Hands-on Experience: Prior exposure to control systems, testing equipment, or valve systems in an academic or internship setting is a plus.
  • Vendor Management: Experience working with vendors, managing orders, and ensuring the correct specifications are met is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Control Systems: Basic understanding of control systems (hardware/software) and their testing and deployment processes is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
