Role Summary:
Flowserve is looking for a technically and commercially experienced Applications Engineer interested in customer sales and applications design. In this function you will develop solutions for customers and partners for municipal water projects using a variety of Flowserve's offered pumping equipment.
Requirements:
Evaluate customer requirements, specifications, and other pertinent data.
Review proposed equipment technical requirements and coordinate with the factory for clarification when necessary.
Prepare proposals meeting the requirements of sales and Flowserve’s customers.
Generate cost estimates using in house costing tools to support profitable project acquisition.
Work strategically with sales and management to set effective project pricing and margin levels.
Review customer purchase orders to insure they meet company policy requirements and match quoted scope, price, and delivery.
Work collaboratively with Flowserve’s various facilities around the world to provide quotes for products supported outside of the Taneytown Facility.
·Communicate with management on key projects to ensure adequate technical and commercial risks are evaluated.
Support Flowserve Sales & product representatives with developing their own quotes through the Flowserve quoting program.
Provide product support to sales, distributors, representatives, and other Flowserve locations.
Participate in handoff meetings between commercial operations and project management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineering
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as an Applications Engineer or in preparing/writing proposals
Capable of keeping organized multiple tasks with parallel timelines
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Strong Communication Skills
Must embrace Continuous Improvement Process
Preferred skills:
2 + years of related experience in the municipal water industry or rotating equipment
Familiarity with consultant engineer designed specifications and drawings

The pay range for this position is $83,858 - $ 104,852 USD Annual
