As a Field Service Technician (FST) at Flowserve, you will play a vital role in supporting our customers across key industries—including oil and gas, chemical, nuclear, coal, and wastewater. In this hands-on position, you’ll install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair Flowserve equipment such as pumps, seals, and valves.
You’ll serve as the frontline technical expert, providing real-time solutions and recommendations for repairs, upgrades, or replacements. Working directly at customer sites, you will be instrumental in maintaining operational efficiency and delivering world-class service that reflects Flowserve’s commitment to excellence.
Our Field Service Technicians are the face of Flowserve in the field, and we rely on them to build strong customer relationships while providing reliable, responsive, and high-quality service.
Perform on-site service calls in response to customer requests.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly and effectively.
Lead or work alongside customer personnel and service crews.
Manage the full repair lifecycle, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, reassembly, and testing.
Ensure timely and successful installation of equipment.
Conduct pre-startup checks and evaluate equipment performance.
Monitor and report on the maintenance and operation of Flowserve products.
Train customers on the proper operation and maintenance of Flowserve equipment.
Collaborate with internal teams such as repair centers, customer service, and engineering.
Maintain accurate, organized service records, including daily reports, job details, and materials used.
Solid understanding of pumps, valves, seals, actuators, and other mechanical equipment used in industrial applications.
Hands-on experience installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment.
Proficiency in mechanical seal installation and servicing (e.g., replacing seal faces, gaskets, and O-rings).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics.
Strong initiative, independence, and follow-through.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Willingness to travel, including internationally, for extended periods.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds (25kg), climb ladders, and work in and around large equipment in all weather conditions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Commitment to Flowserve’s values of ethics, safety, and quality.
Professional certifications relevant to field service or mechanical repair.
Experience working in cross-functional or unfamiliar teams.
High School Diploma or GED.
3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
