Job Title: Leave Management Specialist
Location: Springfield, MO or Remote can be discussed
Department: People and Culture
Employment Type: Full-time
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

Job Summary:

The Leave Management Specialist manages all aspects of the leave program, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies.  The incumbent works closely with our outsourced leave management company ensuring seamless coordination and support for our team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process team member leave requests, including FMLA, disability, and personal leaves.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with leave laws and regulations.
  • Act as the primary contact between the organization and the outsourced leave management company.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of leave requests and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Provide guidance to team members on leave policies and their rights.
  • Communicate leave determinations and assist team members with understanding their benefits.
  • Prepare and maintain leave-related documentation.
  • Generate reports on leave usage and compliance.
  • Assist in developing and implementing leave policies.
  • Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Conduct training for team members and managers on leave policies and procedures.
  • Develop and distribute educational materials on leave management.

Experience and/or Education Qualifications:

  • Three years in leave management or Human Resources experience required.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced setting required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with outsourced leave management companies preferred.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or other relevant certifications preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of leave laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
