This position is fully on-site.
Provides overall gaming strategy, training, and technical support for patient facing technology including, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox, PC, tablets, etc. Assists with assessing, installing, documenting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, supporting gaming systems, peripherals, and related hardware within the context of the Child Life Department. Engages patients and families in individual and group settings using gaming technologies to support therapeutic goals.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with patients and families to teach and utilize appropriately-assigned gaming and technology-based experiences.
- Coordinates with clinicians across various departments to identify patients who may benefit from gaming and technology-based interventions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, updates and repairs gaming systems and related peripheral equipment. Maintains updated knowledge on all applicable gaming systems and performs new system configurations.
- Collaborates with IS, Engineering, Biomed and other NCH teams related to equipment selection and management.
- Disseminates technical knowledge, including formal training across the Child Life team and related departments.
- Builds relationships and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain resources and programming; conducts program pilots.
- Assesses, sets goals, and plans interventions for direct patient interactions. Collaborates with team members on research related to gaming and technology based experiences and outcomes with relation to patient care.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, required.

Experience:
- Two years of related experience, required.
- Experience working with school-aged children and above, required.
- Experience in the gaming field or health care setting, preferred.
