In this role, you will provide therapeutic services—including counseling, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning—to students within the school setting. You will use evidence‑based practices to support emotional wellness, strengthen coping skills, and promote positive behavioral change. Working closely with school staff, families, and internal teams, you will help ensure students receive the right care at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual, group, and family counseling within the school environment to support students’ emotional and behavioral health needs
Conduct comprehensive assessments, gather background information, and determine accurate diagnoses
Develop individualized treatment plans that evolve based on student progress and assessment findings
Collaborate with school staff, internal departments, and treatment teams to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care
Participate in clinical staffing and treatment meetings, offering insight and recommendations
Document all services in accordance with regulatory and agency standards, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Assist students through transitions and complete required documentation such as summaries and plans
Manage crisis situations and coordinate emergency services when needed
Provide clinical consultation, training, and guidance to team members as appropriate
Represent the agency professionally within the school and community
Support specialty services such as trauma‑informed care and co‑occurring treatment
Complete all required training and maintain compliance with agency and state standards
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
Holds provisional licensure in Missouri: PLPC, LMSW, or PLMFT
Must be able to obtain full licensure, including completion of supervision hours and passing required exams
Must be willing to obtain licensure in additional states as needed
Comfortable providing telehealth services (training provided)
Additional Qualifications:
Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check
Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
Must attain Behavioral Management training within required time frames
Must attain understanding of Collaborative Service Goals (CSGs) within 30 days of employment
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to establish effective relationships in person and via telehealth
Must attain required training hours as outlined by program standards
Must attain applicable certifications/licenses as required
For school‑based programs: must be able to provide services onsite during school hours
Physical Requirements
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and perform repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements for typing or writing
Primarily sedentary role involving sitting for most of the workday, with occasional walking or standing as needed
