Brookings Health System is seeking a Volunteer & Gift Shop Coordinator to join our team!
Compensation range for this position is $20.15 to 29.83, depending on experience.

Summary
The Volunteer & Gift Shop Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Brookings Health System Gift Shop, including staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and sales. This role also oversees volunteers who support the gift shop and other functions within the organization.
Essential Functions
Oversee daily Gift Shop operations including staffing, scheduling, inventory management, and sales.
Manage inventory lifecycle: source, receive, price, tag, stock, rotate, and reconcile merchandise; maintain backstock and shop cleanliness.
Maintain POS system: enter inventory, run reports, process adjustments, troubleshoot issues, and support staff/volunteers.
Coordinate vendor relations, approve invoices, credit card statements, and prepare deposits.
Promote sales events and employee discounts via email; collaborate with Marketing and stay current on retail trends.
Train staff and volunteers, maintain training materials, and respond to donation requests and resale license needs.
Conduct annual inventory and ensure compliance with financial and operational procedures.
Maintain oversight of volunteers within the organization.
Coordinate basic onboarding and scheduling for volunteers.
Track volunteer hours and ensure comfort with assigned tasks.
Provide direction and support as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, retail, or healthcare.
Experience in retail operations and inventory management preferred.
Prior volunteer coordination experience is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and POS systems.
Ability to lift and move inventory, use a ladder, and maintain a clean retail space.
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues remotely when needed.

20 to 30 hours per week with flexibility between 8 am – 5 pm
