Lake Regional Healthcare is currently seeking a Director of Population and Public Health to deliver the best possible direction of care in LRH’s patient-focused setting.

SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Ancillary and Community Services this position is responsible for and directs the development, operation, administration and evaluation of all mandated and discretionary population health services within local, state and federal regulations and policy of Lakes Regional Healthcare.  Also responsible for the Public Health Department’s implementation of the core functions and essential services of public health within Dickinson County.  Assures adequate programming is in place to meet community needs and serves as the liaison to the Board of Health.

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from a college or university in a health related field of study with a minimum of two years experience in public health, one of which is in management; or graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing with an Iowa license (BSN preferred) with a minimum of two years of related public health experience.  Two years of public health related experience required – Management preferred.  Experience with grant writing and project management strongly preferred.

                                 

Has, or within 90 days of hire receives, cultural education to include sensitivity to Dickinson County Public Health’s (DCPH) service populations’ cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. 

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:

Currently possesses certification in the Mandatory Reporting of Child and Dependent Adult Abuse or obtains within first six months of hire.  Valid drivers license and proof of insurance required.
