As a Logistics Route Planner, you’ll play a pivotal role in our logistics operations—designing and optimizing delivery routes that balance customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and cost control.

This role is Sunday-Thursday shift

Location: Dallas or San Antonio

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and route outgoing orders based on shipment size, destination, equipment availability, and customer time windows.
  • Strategically prioritize deliveries to meet service goals while minimizing cost-to-serve.
  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams (Sales, Warehouse, Fleet, and Customer Service) to align routing decisions with staffing, equipment, and order forecasts.
  • Maximize driver and truck productivity by ensuring full loads and optimal route assignments.
  • Coordinate with invoicing and graphics teams to ensure accurate routing of reships, POS, and promotional materials.
  • Develop route batches and oversee truck loading in partnership with night warehouse staff.
  • Maintain and distribute daily delivery logs, including start times, driver assignments, and equipment needs.
  • Manage routing software updates: customer locations, open/close times, delivery windows, and service parameters.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, serviceability, and cost reduction.
  • Forecast and adjust seasonal/holiday delivery routes based on volume and customer needs.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using delivery data and performance metrics.
  • Support other logistics and operational projects as assigned.

 Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Analytics, or Industrial Engineering.
    • 0-2+ years in Routing, Logistics, or Transportation Planning: With increasing responsibility and measurable impact on operational performance.
    • Experience in Beverage Distribution or High-Volume Consumer Goods: Familiarity with time-sensitive, multi-stop delivery environments.
  • Technical Skills
  • Experience with routing platforms (Descartes OnDemand, Omnitracs/Solera, etc.) preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with WMS and ERP systems (AS400, NetSuite) a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    •   Data Analytics & Visualization: Strong command of Excel (pivot tables, XLookups), and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to analyze delivery performance, cost-to-serve, and route efficiency.
    • Process Improvement & Lean Logistics: Demonstrated experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste and improve delivery KPIs.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to lead coordination across Sales, Warehouse, Fleet, and Customer Service teams to align routing decisions with business goals.
    • Change Management: Experience adapting to new routing systems, workflows, or delivery models with measurable impact on cost and service levels.
