Join us as you guide a talented group of global NPI Project Managers and Engineers through the exciting journey of new product introduction. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire manufacturing launch process—planning, directing, optimizing product design for excellence and manufacturability, and coordinating activities that ensure smooth transitions from design to production. Your leadership will shape efficient, compliant processes that deliver world-class medical technology to patients around the globe.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted leader to the SCM leadership team for each NPI, removing roadblocks, investing in professional growth, and providing coaching and feedback to project managers and engineers.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new team members in NPI roles.
  • Oversee daily workflow, prioritize activities, escalate issues, and represent the team in cross-functional forums.
  • Drive a vision of continuous improvement for NPI processes and team performance with an SCM lens.
  • Manage employee performance in alignment with company policies. 

Leadership, Planning & Coordination

  • Establish strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, internal and external suppliers, SCM and R&D leadership, to secure alignment, resources, and timely project deliverables.
  • Supervise cross-functional activities to ensure completion of project objective, schedule, and budget for all SCM functions from project ideation to M320
  • Drive continuous improvement for NPI processes, manufacturing readiness, and team performance.

Project & Program Execution

  • Develop and execute new product introductions (NPI) and product transition plans across SCM.
  • For each project, develop a project plan, articulate manufacturing requirements, identify risks, and create mitigation strategies.
  • Identify tracks of work across all Manufacturing sites and ensure alignment for each program.
  • Monitor projects from initiation through delivery, directing schedules and controlling spending.

SCM Readiness & Process Improvement

  • Embed SCM requirements into each NPI
  • Partner with R&D and Product Management for Design for Manufacturing (Dfm) and Design for Excellence (Dfx), resolve complex issues, reduce target costs and ensure smooth product release and strengthen Manufacturing and Field performance post launch
  • Evaluate feasibility of product changes; recommend and implement improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure readiness for prototype builds, pilot runs, production builds, and product launch.

Technical & Product Understanding

  • Gain strong knowledge of the product lifecycle, product requirements, SCM processes, and regulatory constraints.
  • Develop understanding of engineering change processes and guide Engineering Change authors to meet committed timelines and project milestones.

Compliance, Documentation & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, FDA requirements, and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, project documentation, and reporting systems per company and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:


Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 10 years operations or engineering experience preferred; project management experience preferred
  • Track record of excellent leadership, development, and collaboration skills
  • 5 years of people management experience
  • Excellent understanding of PLM and SCM processes
  • Validated knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices, and procedures
  • Ability to build strong working partnerships, trust, and credibility at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision making
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • 20% travel to global sites will be required when possible

The base pay range for this position is:

Min $154,170 - Max $231,250

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
