Job Description

Ensure optimal linen distribution throughout the hospital by implementing effective scheduling, comprehensive training, diligent follow-up, and precise data management, all while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta by meeting regulatory requirements and maintaining accurate records that support compliance and safety standards. Actively contributes to initiatives that ensure safe patient care and services, fostering a secure environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience

  • 1 year of experience in a leadership role
  • 3 years’ experience in linen services or environmental services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree  
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting  

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Certification Summary

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Skilled in coordinating work schedules and optimizing workforce utilization to achieve tasks and projects efficiently

  • Ability to balance a demanding workload and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Proficient in identifying problems, developing practical solutions, and implementing actions to resolve issues while preventing recurrence
  • Knowledgeable in linen distribution procedures
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and computer applications

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service in interactions with all stakeholders, including coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, and volunteers.
  • Serve as a shift lead, supporting the supervisor with daily operational responsibilities.
  • Assist with staff training needs and function as the shift lead in the absence of the supervisor or manager.
  • Ensure timely completion of required inspections.
  • Support and engage in continuous assessment and improvement of service quality.
  • Maintain accurate data collection processes.
  • Remove obstacles or escalate issues to appropriate leaders.
  • Aid the supervisor and/or manager in staff development by being available as a resource, providing on-the-job training, and actively participating in staff workflow and development.
  • Offer feedback to the supervisor and/or manager on staff performance, educational needs, and workflow status.
  • Oversee clean linen delivery and coordinate the collection of soiled linen.
  • Monitor and enforce safety and hygiene standards.
  • Build strong relationships with staff members.
  • Perform administrative duties and operate necessary equipment.
