Job Description

The Investment Office manages an investment portfolio designed to support the long-term mission of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The team allocates capital to leading external investment managers across diverse asset classes, including private equity, public equity, hedge funds, credit, and fixed income. An Investment Intern will play a meaningful role in advancing Children’s mission by assisting with investment research, manager due diligence, and data management.

Experience

  • Research area: research experience necessary either through previous internship, work experience, or course work; practical knowledge about the conduct of research principals required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated passion for investing
  • Progress toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, economics, or related field
  • Experience with a Student Managed Investment Fund is a plus
  • Familiarity with security valuation and portfolio management principles
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Caissa, Dynamo, or eVestment is a plus

Education

Non-Clinical Focus:

  • College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field, required

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the Investment Office’s due diligence process on prospective investments across a range of asset classes and assist in drafting investment memos
  • Assist the team in monitoring and, when necessary, re-underwriting existing investments. 
  • Attend meetings and calls with global investment managers, take detailed notes and prepare summaries
  • Collect, organize, and analyze quantitative investment data
  • Conduct macroeconomic, country, or industry research to identify potential investment themes
  • Contribute to projects aimed at improving financial reporting and operational processes within the Investment Office
