Leads, supervises, and facilitates day-to-day activities of pharmacists and technicians in providing complete pharmaceutical care for patients in their area, including provision of safe, rational, and cost-effective drug therapy through distribution and cognitive services. Supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are provided which support the integrity of the family system and patient care team. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Experience
- Experience in a hospital pharmacy
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science and/or PharmD
- Experience in a hospital pharmacy in pediatrics
Education
- Bachelor of Science in pharmacy
Certification Summary
- Georgia licensed pharmacist or eligible
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated use of problem identifying and solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with multiple groups of healthcare professionals and communicate effectively with patients and parents/caregivers
Job Responsibilities
- Proficiency in all job functions as described in the Pharmacist Level II job description.
- Leads, supervises, and interacts with assigned team members for optimal delivery of pharmaceutical care.
- Performs administrative tasks and develops professional management skills to support the operations of assigned areas.
- Provides and coordinates team participation in continuous performance improvement.
- Assists with precepting responsibilities of new and existing employees. Participates in the orientation, education, and training program provided to the pharmacy staff.
- Maintains individual competence and professional development.
