Summary:  

  • Duties include preparation and maintenance of shock components, as well as documenting shock combinations and set up.
  • Responsible for testing shock performance and for utilizing shock dynamometer to adjust shocks to match desired specifications.    

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • Builds shocks and stop bumps in an efficient manner under critical time constraints.
  • Uses shock dynamometer to adjust shocks to match desired specifications.
  • Utilizes database to record measurements and track component mileage for reference.
  • Assists Crew Chief in identifying the best shock and bump stop combination for testing and utilization during race events.
  • Assists in the management of parts inventory relating to shocks.
  • Ability to operate and interpret shock dyno graphs.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Attendance Expectations: 

  • The position requires regular and predictable attendance 
  • Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Requires an ability to work a flexible schedule.

Physical Demands: 

  • Requires vision (near, distance, color, peripheral, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses. 
  • Constantly manually manipulates, lifts/carries 10 pounds or less, and pushes/pulls 12 pounds or less.
  • Frequently stands, walks, reaches outward, bends, lifts/carries up to 20 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds. 
  • Occasionally sits, reaches above shoulder, squats or kneels, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds. 

 

 Environment Demands: 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
