Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Operations Manager reports to the Branch Manager and is responsible for training, leading, and developing a team of specialists. Key responsibilities include achieving sales and revenue targets, fostering client loyalty and retention, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. Additional management duties involve monitoring and optimizing scheduled appointments, field routing, conducting client quality audits, and overseeing account management.

  • Oversee daily operations of specialists to ensure outstanding customer service.
  • Provide guidance to staff across all operational, service, and client care aspects.
  • Manage financial performance, focusing on revenue growth and expense control.
  • Travel daily within the territory to meet clients, support specialists, and collaborate with the sales team on business development.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including early mornings and weekends as needed.
  • Conduct client visits and field inspections.
  • Prepare bids and reports.
  • Train staff on new techniques and products.
  • Manage specific projects, such as fumigation or large accounts.
  • Submit weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not mandatory.
  •  3-5 years in a management role with a focus on customer service.
  •  Proven success in training, mentoring, and coaching service professionals.
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  •  Experience in a route-oriented service environment is advantageous.
  •  Ability to obtain and maintain license or certification for the state/province they are operating within 90 days of their start date.
  •  Valid driver’s license from the state of residence.

Work environment

As a Pest Control Operations Manager, you will work in diverse environments, including offices, customer homes, storage facilities, warehouses, schools, and restaurants. A typical workday may involve:

  • Working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Traveling to job sites for evaluations, pricing, and staffing.
  • Assisting technicians in diagnosing pest issues and recommending solutions.
  • Using and maintaining safety equipment such as bump caps, gloves, goggles, respirators, eye washers, first aid kits, and spill containment materials.
  • Operating company vehicles and equipment, including power sprayers, foggers, dusters, drills, and various hand tools.
  • Handling fumigants, fungicides, insecticides, and other materials commonly used in pest control.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform fieldwork and inspections as necessary

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervision of Pest Control Specialists, ensuring team performance aligns with company standards.
