Job Description Summary

Assistant Project Officer - II is responsible for performing a broad range of technical tasks and coordinating processes and activities on assigned projects construction projects for the Authority

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out delegated activities of higher complexity per the project plan on assigned projects and organize all the activities needed to deliver project objectives in compliance with the Authority's design and construction codes and guidelines.

  • Assist in drafting and reviewing elements of project review reports (e.g. labor cost reports, safety check reports, cost estimates, staffing reports, scope of work reports etc.) and presentations to support delivery of the review process.

  • Assists in ensuring the quality and high standards of contract performance and compliance in both design and construction.

  • Maintains a management information system to provide data for the planning and control of project development.

  • Assists in the process of investigation and resolution of complex design and construction issues to ensure quality, compliant,  and high standards of contract performance.

  • Reviews design documents, change orders, punch lists, payment requisitions, and contracts.

  • Gathers information to be used in job status reports.

  • Support key stakeholder engagement by scheduling meetings, and other stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Performs related duties, as assigned.

Civil Service Classification: Competitive

Salary:

  • Appointment Rate: $66,739 - $80,748
  • Incumbent Rate: $76,750 - $92,860

Posting End Date: Until Filled

Subject to the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the appointment rate for any newly hired employee, or employees with less than two years of active City or SCA service, shall be 15% less than the applicable incumbent rate.

Education

Baccalaureate: Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field

Certifications (if required)

Work Experience

One year of full time, paid construction work experience or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.
