Casual drivers provide transportation for University employees, students, and visitors in support of university business and events, using university-owned vehicles such as sedans, minivans, and 12–15 passenger buses. Transportation Services drivers are responsible for safely operating these vehicles to transport university constituents around campus, to downtown Lewisburg, local hotels, airports, and other assigned destinations within a 300-mile, one-way radius of campus.Job Duties:

This is a casual, non-benefits eligible position that will be scheduled to work on an as- needed basis.
Operates a university-owned vehicle in a safe, reliable, professional manner, providing safe and efficient transportation to the university community and its visitors.
This position requires the ability to travel to large airports such as Newark, JFK, BWI (as examples) and in large city environments.
Provides information and other general assistance to the university community and its visitors.
Maintains records of work performed.
Makes timely reports of accidents, incidents, and unusual occurrences.
Assist passengers in boarding, loading luggage and exiting vehicles if necessary.
Attend meetings and training sessions scheduled by Transportation Services.

Required:
Driver must be 21 years or older.
Demonstrate ability to safely and efficiently operate a loaded passenger bus (up to 15 passengers including driver).
Candidates must pass a University Motor Vehicle Record Review (MVR) upon employment.
Must have a minimum of 1 year driving experience with a vehicle that weighs over 10,000lbs, OR a bus equivalent vehicle that is at least 22 feet in length and 8 feet in width.
Must possess a valid United States driver’s license, valid for a minimum of 2 years.
Within 30 days of hire: candidates will be required to obtain a D.O.T medical card and pass Behind the Wheel training.
Must be able to lift items up to 50lbs.
• Each driver will be required to work all large university events as needed (i.e. Admissions Open Houses , Family Weekend, Reunion, Commencement), as well as, additional driver requests while being flexible/available to work all shifts - days, evenings, and weekends throughout the year.
• Each driver will be required to work at least one (1) shift for the on demand university shuttle per week during the academic year Monday-Friday.

15.00-15.00The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
