Job Summary:

The Transportation Coordinator assists hands-on with the daily coordination of freight movement both inbound and outbound to/from our Southeast Distribution Center, located in Fort Payne, AL. This role is responsible for inbound trucks are received correctly as well as any outbound trucks are processed correctly.

Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:

• Inbound/Outbound management all containers – confirming the information on file is correct against what is physically on yard i.e. (container location is correct)
• Periodic checks for the condition of the containers/chassis, reporting on that information to the appropriate parties.
• Communicate any discrepancies with seals, noticeable corrections on Delivery Receipts, or no SCAC codes in WMS to appropriate DC Leaders
• Maintain all logs for inbound and outbound traffic daily
• Manage the communication of damages and shortages of shipments to Retail Manager as well as the NJO Team
• Communicate carrier and/or driver changes to the appropriate internal DC Teams and/or NJO Teams
• Weekly business review with E-DRAY KPIs
• Solid working knowledge of port transportation processes, including drayage operations, container movements at marine terminals, port procedures, and intermodal logistics.

Education and Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred bachelor’s or associate degree in transportation or logistics would be advantageous.
• General knowledge of port transportation
• 2-3 years of experience as a truck dispatcher in a similar industry.
• Extensive experience in customer services, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
• Experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS).
• Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), and time management skills.
