Job Summary:
The Transportation Coordinator assists hands-on with the daily coordination of freight movement both inbound and outbound to/from our Southeast Distribution Center, located in Fort Payne, AL. This role is responsible for inbound trucks are received correctly as well as any outbound trucks are processed correctly.
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
- Inbound/Outbound management all containers – confirming the information on file is correct against what is physically on yard i.e. (container location is correct)
- Periodic checks for the condition of the containers/chassis, reporting on that information to the appropriate parties.
- Communicate any discrepancies with seals, noticeable corrections on Delivery Receipts, or no SCAC codes in WMS to appropriate DC Leaders
- Maintain all logs for inbound and outbound traffic daily
- Manage the communication of damages and shortages of shipments to Retail Manager as well as the NJO Team
- Communicate carrier and/or driver changes to the appropriate internal DC Teams and/or NJO Teams
- Weekly business review with E-DRAY KPIs
- Solid working knowledge of port transportation processes, including drayage operations, container movements at marine terminals, port procedures, and intermodal logistics.
Education and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred bachelor’s or associate degree in transportation or logistics would be advantageous.
- General knowledge of port transportation
- 2-3 years of experience as a truck dispatcher in a similar industry.
- Extensive experience in customer services, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
- Experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS).
- Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), and time management skills.
