Working within Tax, your mission will be to drive value-added work and support our core retail business goals. Our tax team focuses on all aspects of tax reporting including enhancing productivity and efficiency of core compliance through process and technology, monitoring tax risk and opportunities across all tax disciplines, engaging and educating Finance and the broader organization regarding tax considerations, and prioritizing team resources to support key work streams.
As a Senior Manager of Property Tax, you will lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of the company’s real and personal property tax function. This includes oversight of compliance, valuation, appeals, planning, and financial reporting across a multi-state portfolio. You will be responsible for optimizing property tax expense through proactive assessment review, data-driven appeal strategies, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, you will partner closely with Real Estate, Finance, FP&A, Legal, and external advisors to influence property tax outcomes and ensure alignment with broader business objectives. You will drive process standardization, leverage technology and analytics to enhance decision-making, and ensure strong internal controls and SOX compliance over property tax processes. Additionally, you will lead, develop, and mentor team members while managing third-party relationships and ensuring consistent execution of property tax strategies across jurisdictions.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
