Job Title: University Finance - Accounting Clerk (FWS/NFWS)
Purpose within the Organization:
The Accounting Clerk supports the University Finance team’s day-to-day operations. This position works closely with the Finance/Grant Accountant and Accounting Manager to provide essential support services to the to meet the needs of the University and its donors and grantors.
Responsibilities related to purpose:
- Prepare and distribute invoices associated with the University’s various donor, grant, and vendor agreements.
- Process donation and grant payments.
- Create check requests, generate purchase orders, and submit invoices to accounts payable as needed.
- Assist with grant financial management and reporting as needed.
- Perform month-end duties, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations as assigned.
- Upload approved journal entries into the University’s financial system.
- Process Athletics team per diem disbursements and returns.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Equipment used and responsibility:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
Qualifications:
- Accounting or finance major preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work, learn, and be flexible.
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Great Plains is a plus.
Education/Experience:

- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
