ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development so as to meet agreed organizational performance goals within agreed budgets and timescales
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development
  • Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
  • Manage and develop direct reporting staff
  • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets
  • Liaise with other functional/departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements
  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance.
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and other regulatory compliance guidelines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises all staff assigned . Responsible for hiring and managing all performance related aspects of staff.

  • Highly effective communication skills and a good command of the English language.

  • Stays abreast of current and emerging relative to requisite discipline, function and higher education.

  • Good relationship management skills.

  • Good problem solving ability, judgment and sound decision making.

  • Excellent time management and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Proficient with computer software including MS Office Suite.

  • Stays abreast of current trends, technology, state and/or federal requirements, and GCU policies and procedures.
  • Participation in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community.

  • Demonstrated administrative leadership skills in managing growth and resources.

  • Good coaching, counseling, mentoring and advising skills and ability.

  • Ability to successfully pass background investigations.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred..

  • Minimum  of 5 years’ relevant leadership/management experience
