Bucks County Community College is seeking a full-time, uniformed administrative professional to lead and supervise Security & Safety personnel during the day shift (Monday–Friday) across our Newtown, Lower Bucks, and Upper Bucks campuses. Reporting to the Executive Director of Security and Safety, this role takes charge of emergency response coordination, patrols, incident management, report reviews, training oversight, and annual evaluations. This armed position requires current PA Act 235 certification and also includes coordinating vehicle maintenance and contributing to the Security & Safety accreditation team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise 7-3 shift Security & Safety Officers & Dispatcher.

  • Provide immediate coordination of response during emergencies.

  • Provide training for 7-3 shift personnel.

  • Schedule 7-3 shift personnel.

  • Communicate with Executive Director regarding shift issues.

  • Conduct shift briefings & start-of-shift inspections.

  • Receive phone calls from subordinates during certain off-hour time periods to address contingencies.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Participate in the hiring and selection process for shift personnel.

  • Assist in planning security measures for campus events.

  • Provide backup support to Security & Safety Officers as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Five years of full-time work experience in law enforcement, campus security, public safety or related field.

  • Three years of full-time supervisory experience in such fields.

  • Strong written, interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Proficiency with basic computer skills such as email and MS Word as well as ability to learn task-specific software for report management, parking, surveillance systems, fire alarms, etc.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher degree preferred.

  • EMT or First Responder/Emergency Responder certification preferred.

  • CPR/AED certification preferred; If not, you must become certified within 6 months of start date.

  • ACT 235 certification preferred; If not, you must become certified within 6 months of start date.

  • Experience with law enforcement or campus safety accreditation programs preferred.

  • Successful completion of a pre-placement physical examination and Pennsylvania background check are required as conditions of employment.

Salary Range $50,618 - $64,630 (commensurate with experience)

All uniforms and equipment are provided. The position is Monday–Friday, with some occasional requirement for weekend or evening duty for major events.
