School Certifying Official – Coordinator provides support to the School Certifying Official team by processing and managing Veteran's education benefit paperwork in accordance with Federal and State guidelines. This will include but is not limited to document and eligibility verification, providing notice to the Department Of Veteran Affairs of student’s schedule, attendance and tuition billed. They are responsible for maintaining current knowledge of all Veterans Education benefits, as well as the regulations of the Department of Veteran Affairs and institutional policies. They will also assist generating, sorting, and distributing reports and workflow, digital filing, data entry, and projects requiring attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a Full Sail University ambassador embracing our unique educational model, while maintaining the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and customer service
- Process and manage Veteran's education benefit paperwork in accordance with Federal and State guidelines
- Calculate and certify VA Education benefits and entitlements for Military students and dependents
- Provide prospective incoming and actively attending students with assistance and guidance to successfully finance their education using their VA education benefits
- Assist students and parents through in-bound/out-bound calls, e-mail, and in-person office visits
- Supporting the team by generating, sorting, and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Supporting data management projects as necessary
- Managing office supplies and resources
- Scheduling meetings and conference room bookings
- Coordinating maintenance or vendor services
- Greeting visitors to the office, ensuring guests are comfortable and connected with the right person
- Coordinating travel accomodations for staff as needed
- Assisting with onboarding of new employees
- Assisting Management with event planning and event coordination
- Supporting the preparation of student records for annual audit.
- Maintaining work-study work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, and paid time off, and cover for absenteeism.
- Assisting with creation, revision, and archive approved policy, procedures, and training.
- Providing recommendations to Management regarding policy and procedures.
- Partner with other Teams and Departments to promote and facilitate a world-class level of customer service, and to identify and resolve issues to achieve daily and long-term goals.
- Contribute to the overall success of the department and Full Sail University by performing all other duties as assigned by leadership

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or one year of experience working in a secondary school service department required
- Previous administrative and customer service experience in a professional office environment required; Experience certifying VA benefits and/or Financial Aid knowledge a plus, but will train an otherwise qualified candidate
- Applicant must not currently be or have ever been in default on any student loans.

Computer/Equipment Skills:
- Must be experienced using a computer, basic Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), CampusVue or similar computer data system, and other internet-based programs.
Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:
• This position is based on Full Sail University’s campus in Winter Park, Florida .
• Work is performed in an office environment. Physical requirements include remaining seated for extended periods of time while using a PC keyboard, calculator and/or telephone, and minor lifting.
• Employee must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week., in addition to occasional weekends and overtime as needed.
•The work environment must be free of distractions and can maintain FERPA standards.
