The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and orderliness of the property and oversight of the maintenance systems to ensure optimal operations and client/tenant satisfaction in accordance with department protocol. The SMT will collaborate effectively with co-workers, contributing to a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completing work orders related to the physical maintenance and repair of assigned buildings using work order software programs

  • Responsible for implementing routine physical improvements

  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocols

  • Assist Supervisor in establishing and maintaining inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies, and keeping logs up to date

  • Collaborate with the Supervisor to implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain related records and logs

  • Assist with controlling expenses associated with the operation of the buildings

  • Effectively communicate building status and changes to the appropriate individuals

  • Adhere to all safety standards, policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and best practices

  • Consistently act professionally and courteously with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, patients, and other stakeholders to ensure respectful and effective interactions

  • Utilize materials, supplies, tools, and other building property in a safe and productive manner

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of related work experience and technical training required; 5+ years of related work experience preferred

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training in maintenance-related courses preferred

  • CFC Handling Certification preferred

  • Strong communication skills required

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Working knowledge of tools and their proper use, with a strong focus on safety.

  • 24-hour availability for emergencies and participation in on-call rotation

  • Capable of extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds with proper body mechanics

  • Willingness to work overtime for special projects as required

  • Ability to understand and interpret design documents, manufacturer’s specifications, and written operational procedures

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster effective teamwork and maintain positive relationships with clients, tenants, and co-workers

  • Ability to work independently and organize/prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software
