Communications Intern (Autism in the Workplace Program)

The Simons Foundation is seeking a communications intern to support projects related to the development and organization of the foundation’s social media, video-sharing channels, and website video production. This position will work with communications team members to help organize the foundation’s video database assets and optimize the foundation’s YouTube and Vimeo presence, including creating and organizing playlists, updating caption copy, and using consistent branding, tagging, and archiving.

The temporary internship is 18 hours per week onsite at the Simons Foundation’s offices in NYC. This position is expected to start in January 2026 last for approximately 12 weeks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Add and update videos on the foundation’s video-sharing platforms. This includes uploading new media, organizing and tagging existing media, creating video playlist descriptions, and adding captions and credits
  • Perform video migration from the foundation’s existing Vimeo web channel to various YouTube channels and playlists
  • Update all videos with alt-text and captioning to meet website accessibility standards.
  • Maintain a consistent and recognizable style for videos by adding images and logos, and following naming conventions and branding guidelines
  • Add, categorize, and tag videos, lectures, and webinars in our archival system, WebDAM (Digital Asset Manager)
  • Help with updating and organizing video databases such as Dropbox to ensure foundation videos are backed up
  • Update and maintain video inventory tracking sheets
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in media, communications, video production, or journalism preferred
  • Experience with supporting or managing social media and video-sharing platforms in a business or marketing environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with WordPress a plus
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • This internship pays $20 per hour.
