The Sugar Boiler works in the factory on the process side. They ensure maximum pan yields of quality sugar meeting specifications while minimizing sugar losses, molasses and inverts on the pan floor.

Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Boils sugar efficiently and maximizes sugar production.

  • Maintains sugar product quality standards.

  • Maintains safe and sanitary pan floor operations.

  • Prepares pan fondant.

  • Manages the sugar end juice flows, tank levels and pan boiling effectively.

  • Recognizes the impact sugar boiling has to other stations and operators within the factory.

  • Performs other duties as assigned and required to work overtime as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.

  • And, individuals are required to take a Combined Basic Skills Test to verify basic skills and knowledge.          

  • Able to learn and describe the flow of sugar-end syrups and operating parameters.

  • Must be able to learn and demonstrate ability to boil sugar, so the maximum pan yields can be attained, within granulation specifications and operating parameters.

  • Able to learn and describe the three-stage pan boiling process.

  • Describe the relations between supersaturation, brix, temperature, and vacuum.

  • Able to learn to identify pan boiling control schemes and the specific functions of the control system.

  • Monitor and understand the phases of boiling sugar; must be learn the flow of all sugar-end syrups.

  • Must be able to reference, read and understand how to use MSDS information.

Compensation Range:

$36.59 - $36.59 /hr
