As a Managing Technical Consultant, Environmental Toxicologist and Risk Assessor, you’ll play a pivotal role in protecting sensitive ecosystems while guiding clients through complex regulatory landscapes. This is your opportunity to lead impactful projects that influence sustainability in oil and gas operations across Gulf Coast wetland habitats. This position is being offered in our Austin, TX office. However, candidates may also be considered for offices located in Houston, TX, Baton Rouge, LA, New Orleans, LA, or Dallas, TX, depending on the qualifications of applicants.

You’ll be the trusted expert driving ecological risk assessments and toxicological evaluations that inform critical decisions for industry leaders. Your work will help ensure compliance, safeguard biodiversity, and deliver innovative solutions that balance environmental stewardship with business objectives.

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in toxicology, environmental toxicology, chemistry, public health, ecology, or related life sciences (minimum 3.0 GPA).

  • 4–5 years of relevant experience; consulting experience preferred.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proficiency in managing large datasets (MS Excel).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing multiple priorities under strict deadlines.

  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to Health & Safety protocols.

  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (MS or higher) in a related discipline.

  • Experience with ecological risk assessments and regulatory compliance in oil and gas sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support ecological risk assessments and site investigations.

  • Manage, query, and analyze large chemical and biological datasets.

  • Conduct literature reviews on toxicological and biological topics.

  • Develop work plans, figures, and technical reports with precision and clarity.

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors.
