As our next Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of mechanical design and analysis for mechatronic systems, including motors, solenoids, gearboxes, and other actuator systems. Your expertise in engineering and physics principles will be critical in delivering innovative technologies that meet and exceed customer performance requirements.
• Perform clean-sheet mechanical design of mechatronic systems for diverse applications
• Conduct structural FEA, thermodynamics, bearing load/life calculations, and related analyses
• Develop design of experiments to validate models and ensure compliance with performance requirements
• Create test plans with a focus on reliability and failure mechanisms
• Design mechanical systems with integrated electronics, addressing clearance, creepage, and thermal requirements
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and business teams to support design reviews, cost metrics, and customer needs
• Interface directly with customers to identify pain points and deliver innovative solutions
• Build deep application expertise to drive forward-thinking technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (MET not accepted)
• 1+ years of applicable industry experience in designing dynamic systems (Co-op and internship experience is acceptable)
• Basic machine design knowledge
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Must be able to work for ANY employer without requiring current or future visa sponsorship.
• Extensive SolidWorks or Solid Edge experience
• Strong analytical modeling background, including structural FEA and heat flow simulation (CFD a plus)
• Customer-facing experience in technology development and application engineering
• Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate effectively at all organizational levels
• Strong verbal and written communication, including technical report writing
• Basic machine design knowledge (a plus)
• Experience in material handling systems (a plus)
• Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Some experience in warehouse or industrial automation
• Any experience in material handling systems (a plus)
• Motor design experience is a plus
• CFD simulation experience is a bonus
• Some exposure or experience in customer-driven innovation
