What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, biology, industrial hygiene, or related field OR 8+ years of equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of relevant asbestos management experience.

  • Current California DOSH Certification: Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) or Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST).

  • California Department of Public Health Lead Sampling Technician or Lead Inspector/Assessor certification.

  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel within California and occasionally across the U.S.

  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

  • Please note, this is a casual status position.

Preferred:

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and 8-hour Supervisor training.

  • Confined space and excavation awareness.

  • CPR/First Aid and emergency preparedness training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop sampling plans and manage sample collection/documentation.

  • Conduct asbestos sampling in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

  • Implement site-specific Health & Safety Plans and monitor PPE usage.

  • Lead daily safety briefings and enforce emergency procedures.

  • Perform asbestos clearance sampling and maintain accurate records.

  • Exercise stop-work authority when safety hazards arise.

  • Complete required ERM safety training and certifications.

  • Support related consulting areas: decommissioning, demolition, air compliance, and contaminated site investigation.

For the Consultant, Asbestos Specialist casual status position, we anticipate an hourly rate of $36.54 – $46.83 USD. Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
