Job Summary:

The Senior Research Assistant is an experienced laboratory professional who provides advanced technical support for research activities. This role builds upon the foundational responsibilities of a Research Assistant, incorporating a broader scope of work, including proficiency in multiple research techniques, troubleshooting experimental procedures, and mentoring junior staff. The Senior Research Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and quality of laboratory operations while supporting ongoing research projects.

Education & Experience

Education and Experience:

Master's Degree or Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) and two (2) year's laboratory experience

Certifications, Licenses, or Registration Required:

N/A

Degree in science field of biology, chemistry, or a related field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Responsibilities:

• Perform and oversee a variety of laboratory techniques, including molecular, cellular, and biochemical assays, and maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records.

• Assist in designing and optimizing experimental protocols in collaboration with research associates and scientists and support multiple ongoing studies.

• Train and mentor Research Technicians, providing guidance on laboratory procedures and best practices.

• Manage laboratory inventory, ensuring proper ordering and organization of supplies and reagents.

• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.

• Prepare detailed experimental documentation and assist with data analysis and interpretation.

• Assist in compiling data for presentations, reports, and research publications.

• May assist in animal husbandry, collection of physiological data, and euthanasia.
