Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Reports to work at the required time and performs duties as assigned by Access Control Supervisor.
· Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures with doors and hardware.
· Follows instructions from the Access Control Supervisor regarding the installation of doors and hardware.
· Responsible for completing all work that’s assigned.
· Responsible for the installation of more technical advanced door hardware products.
· Must be able to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
· Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
· Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
· Must be detail oriented.
· Identifies and communicates problems or defects to the Access Control Supervisor.
· Works closely with the Access Control Supervisor to make sure project deadlines are met, materials are ordered on time and inspects final tasks/ projects.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Ability to troubleshoot and repair door hardware.
· Ability to read and use a measuring tape, level and other required tools for installation required.
· Provides quality customer services.
· Tracks labor hours and materials as required for each installation.
· Completes work orders and/or doors and hardware install on projects.
· Attends all training to learn new technology of door hardware, and Wi-Fi and installation methods as required.
· Follows all safety policies and procedures and makes sure proper safety equipment is used when needed.
· Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
Qualifications, Credentials, And Competencies
High school diploma or GED. Certifications obtained while employed by Liberty University at the expense of the employer will be reimbursed back to the University upon voluntary termination (resignation) for the first 12 months after acquiring it. Must be detailed oriented, possess strong organizational skills and well-developed communications skills.
Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent organizational skills. Regularly lift 50+ pounds. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
